Shots Fired and Fight on Lexington Street

LAWRENCE

Last evening, shortly after midnight, Lawrence Police responded to a report of shots fired and a possible fight on Lexington St near the intersection of the Buswell St.  Upon arrival, officers encountered a large group of individuals in the street.  It was later determined that the crowd was leaving a house party in the basement of a Lexington St address, at which a physical altercation took place, which spilled into the street.  As the Officers were attempting to disperse the crowd, they learned two individuals were at local hospitals with gunshot wounds.  One male age 18 of Lawrence arrived at Lawrence General Hospital, and a second male age 18 of Lawrence arrived at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Both suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Based on information obtained at this point in the investigation, this is not believed to be a random act of violence.  The investigation is ongoing.
