Purpose:

The newest working group under the Mayor’s Health Task Force, the Homelessness Initiatives Working Group was formed to examine the city’s homelessness issues. The group is composed of various agencies, organizations, departments, and advocates.  The working group examines systemic barriers that perpetuate the cycle of homelessness, while also looking at different models and approaches used in other communities. Through their efforts, they strive to improve the quality of life of chronically homeless individuals and establish the most effective protocols and practices for this vulnerable population.
