As a result of a follow-up investigation lead by Detective
Angel Mejia an arrest warrant was issued for Timothy Flaherty age 52 of
Lawrence for a Commercial B&E at Essex St.
The Suspect stole 30 cartons of cigarettes from an Essex Street business. Lt. Jay Cerullo, Detective Charles M.
Saindon, and Detective Angel Lopez observe the suspect walking in the area of
Haverhill and May Street. They
attempted apprehended the suspect at the Haffner’s Gas Station and Car Wash on
Haverhill Street The suspect was able to elude their initial attempt to
apprehend him by fleeing the area on foot.
Following a foot pursuit Detectives Saindon, and Lopez were able to
place the suspect in custody as he was attempting jump a fence.
Flaherty was arraigned in Lawrence District Court on the
warrant charges related to the Commercial B&E at the Essex Street business and
the additional charge of resisting arrest.
